1. Digestive Biscuits

Ingredients

 

* 1½ cups whole wheat flour

* ½ cup all-purpose flour

* ½ cup brown sugar

* ½ tsp baking powder

* ½ tsp salt

* ½ cup cold butter

* 3–4 tbsp milk

 

Method

 

1. Mix flours, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

2. Rub in butter until crumbly.

3. Add milk to form a dough.

4. Roll out, cut into rounds, and prick with a fork.

5. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 12–15 minutes.

 

 

2. Chocolate Chip Biscuits

 

Ingredients

 

* 1½ cups all-purpose flour

* ½ tsp baking soda

* ½ cup butter, softened

* ½ cup brown sugar

* ¼ cup white sugar

* 1 egg

* 1 tsp vanilla

* 1 cup chocolate chips

 

Method

 

1. Cream butter and sugars.

2. Beat in egg and vanilla.

3. Mix in flour and baking soda.

4. Fold in chocolate chips.

5. Drop spoonfuls onto a baking tray and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 10–12 minutes.

Method
